The Bassmasters held their annual Jr. Bassmasters tournament on April 19. The young anglers who participated were ages 11 to 15 and included Brendan Guy, Caden Furry, Camdron York. Dawson Hoover, Shannon Perkins, Jacob Cobb and Nick Vandyke. The adult boat captains were Sal Gervasi, Mike Wiley, George Cobb and Terry Voss.

According to spokesperson Sal Gervasi, Dawson Hoover took 1st place, along with catching the Big Fish of the tournament at 3.52 pounds. Caden Furry took 2nd, Brendan Guy took 3rd and Camdron York took 4th. These anglers will be representing Canyon Lake at the the California State Junior Bass Fishing Finals for a chance to move on to the Junior World Championship in Hot Springs, Arkansas in August.
