Photographer Mike Clary captured the overhead drama of recent stormy skies with this stylized High Dynamic Range (HDR) image, saying it "represents the strength and beauty I saw on Friday." He reminds viewers that HDR images are a consolidation of multiple images (in this case, five of them) captured at different exposures to show detail in the darkest shadows and the lightest highlights, resulting in an image more closely representative of what the human eye can see. "Although I typically prefer editorial images that are true representations of a scene, there are some pictures like this that just beg for some stylization to recreate the moment," he says.
