At the Library: Library a good destination in 2013

Many Canyon Lakers have never visited the Library at City Hall. Perhaps 2013 is a good year to begin new traditions! In addition to books, many resources are available ? computers, periodicals, audio books, movies, archives of newspapers, friendly people to help with questions and books about Canyon Lake or by Canyon Lake authors.

Librarian Anna Fox invites children to practice reading out loud to a therapy dog named Sarah that is available on Saturdays. The appointments for “Pawsome Reading Therapy” can be scheduled for 15 minutes at a time. Call the Library for details.

The Library is looking for a volunteer to be a program/activities director. "We would like someone who can spend the time locating companies or individuals who can conduct programs for  preteens, teens and adults," says Anna.

The Canyon Lake Library offers three Nook e-readers with almost 60 pre-loaded books. They can be checked out for two weeks and are non-renewable. In addition to books, other resources at the Library include books on CD, DVD rentals, periodicals and a computer lab. Archived editions of the Lighthouse Magazine and The Friday Flyer also can be viewed.
