For the younger crowd: Activities and events for kids


Along with the Property Owners Association, there are many community clubs and organizations that offer activities and classes for children throughout the year. High schoolers are invited to help with some of these activities to earn community service, so something is always going on for the younger crowd.

? Tennis ? Junior Tennis League, Thursday evenings, 5 to 7 p.m., all ages. Contact Rich Mathews at 951-378-8832.

? Kids Club ? Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Blue Bird Hall, $2 per class or 10-class punch cards (with two free classes). Contact Nickey Frakes at 661-609-8073.

? Karate ? Wednesdays and Thursdays (except first Thursday), 7 to 9 p.m., all ages, Blue Bird Hall, $15 a month. Contact Scott Moore at 626-622-3627.

? Twirlers ? Beginning square dance, Wednesday evenings, 7 to 8:15 p.m., 12 years old and accompanied by an adult. Contact Randy Gibson at 951-246-1846.

? Little League ? Currently fall ball season at Gault Field until November 15, 2012 (registration closed for fall), Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays. ? Golf ?A 6-week After School or Weekend Golf Program started in November. Call Ian Nelson at 951-244-6841, ext. 820, or 951-246-1782.The golf pros give lessons for ages 5 and up, starting at $25 an hour.
