Horse Camp for children ages 6 and above begins Monday, August 6. Another camp begins August 20. Sessions at both camps are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Equestrian Center. The cost is $100 per child. Proper attire is long jeans, T-shirts and hard-sole shoes.

Daily instructions will be given on barn and horse safety, catching, haltering, tying and grooming. Students will have lessons on riding and vaulting daily. Lessons on horse body parts and names of the tack also will be taught.

The last day of camp is Thursday, when campers learn about getting ready for a horse show. They will be grooming and preparing the horses for a demonstration of their new skills. The day concludes with riding, vaulting and awards for the campers. Parents are invited to attend Thursday from 9:45 to noon to observe and take pictures of their children.
