Community gets ready to put on a party

Now that the 4th of July is only a few days away, Canyon Lakers are preparing for the community's busiest holiday of the year. Photo of the Week

About 30 Canyon Lake families are getting ready for an annual 4th of July bike ride that will begin at 9 a.m. at the home of the Wallers, on Longhorn Dr. near Happy Camp. Riding decorated bikes, the group will head to the Campground; then loop around Longhorn and Big Range before ending once again at the Wallers' driveway. According to Deanna Felt, who provided this photo of last year's riders, the group will make a couple of stops along the way for beverages and a swim in the Lake or a neighbor's pool. "Each year the event has grown and, as of now, we have about 30 Canyon Lake families decorating their bikes and getting ready for the ride," she says. Everyone is welcome.
