Each season when the Pool closes and Water Aerobics classes are no longer meeting, two alternatives for exercise are offered. One is the POA-sponsored Fish Out of Water exercise class, which offers low-impact aerobics and exercising to music on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the Lodge.

The other alternative is the Friends Out of Water walking group, made up of friends from Water Aerobics and Chair Volleyball, which meets two morning a week. The group welcomes anyone to join in the hour-long walks, usually through the streets of the community.

A printed schedule for where each walk begins is provided by Bert Barbay at the beginning of each month. In January, Bert has scheduled each of the walks to begin at the Lodge parking lot. Later on, walks will begin at various other locations from Eastport Park to Diamond Point to Moonstone Beach and more. The group also has been known to walk on the BLM trails in the North Ski Area and on the Levee Trail in Lake Elsinore.

Last year, special walks included stops at the historic property of area pioneers Don and Elinor Martin, the backyard vineyard and tortoise enclosure of Vick and Carolyn Knight and the lakefront turtle pond of Ron and Leigh Martel.

The schedule through the end of January is to meet at 8:30 a.m. in the Lodge parking lot on:
