Come out for 'Fit Community' next weekend

Storm Baseball's mascot, Thunder, will be on hand to cheer runners at the Fit Community event on Saturday, January 21. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids to participate in the race, cheer on other participants and give Thunder a high-five.

The Fit Community features a 5K run/walk, 10K run, 1K kids fun run, health and fitness vendors and DJ entertainment. The fair will feature food and drink vendors and health and fitness products and services. The Lodge bar will be open and serving signature Fit Community refreshments.

The day’s schedule is as follows:

? Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.

? 5K/10K races begin promptly at 9 a.m.

? Awards ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.

? 1K kids fun run begins at 11 a.m.

? Food/drink and health/fitness vendors will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Zeal for Life has signed on to be the title sponsor. Distributor Paul Chenette, who is also president of the Canyon Lake Property Owner's Association, will have a booth at the Fit Community health fair to educate participants about the health benefits of this all-in-one supplement powder, a synergistic blend of antioxidants, vitamins and more. Participants also will be able to purchase the product.

Registration fees are $30 for the 5K run/walk, $35 for the 10K run and $15 for the Kids 1K fun run. Plus, get an additional $5 off per race entry by registering as a team with five or more people.
